There are still many places to visit in Nagasaki. Today, we will focus on Ōura Church.
This church, which is located near Glover Garden, was founded by two French priests in 1864 and is said to be the oldest church in Japan.
It was erected in honor of the 26 Japanese martyrs, priests and Japanese Christians, who were crucified in 1579 at a time when persecutions of Christians were common in Japan.
The church has been declared a national treasure in 1933.
You can enter the church every day from 8 am to 6 pm. There is however an entrance fee of 600 Yen.
