If you travel to Fukuoka by plane, you will find yourself at least once at the city airport. That alone makes it worth to take a look at. Let’s talk about Fukuoka Airport today.(福岡空港)

The Fukuoka airport, formerly known as Itazuke Air Base, is an international and domestic airport located east of the Hakata district.
Fukuoka Airport is the main airport on Kyushu and the fourth busiest passenger airport in Japan. It is also the third busiest single-runway airport in the world by passenger traffic. Because the airport is surrounded by residential areas, flights stop at 10 p.m. and resume at 7 a.m. at the request of local residents.

The airport is divided into two terminals that are located on opposing sides. The domestic terminal is connected to the city by subway, and it takes less than ten minutes from the airport to Tenjin. The international terminal is only accessible by car and there is a bus line to Hakata station and the Tenjin area. Both terminals are also connected by a regular shuttle bus.

The Fukuoka airport is very clean and well structured, so it’s fairly easy for travellers to catch the right flight.
