Two of our students attended monthly tea ceremony class at the Fukuoka International House in Nakasu. It was the first time for both of them to wear Yukata since they have found an Obi is tied by shape of a ribbon, they were curious to know how to tie an Obi. They enjoyed some small Japanese sweets called Wagashi before learning how to drink Matcha with proper attention. And also they were able to drink thick tea(called Koicha in Japanese) made by a Swiss who came to Japan to take lessons in tea ceremony. It tastes really strong even for Japanese but it’s a worth a try when you come to Japan !
